Record Snowfall in Hawaii
Lowest elevation snow ever recorded in Maui
A major winter storm hit Hawaii this weekend that resulted in a very rare blizzard in the lower Polipoli Spring State Park in Maui. Officials state that this snow fell at an elevation of 6,200 feet, which is the lowest it’s ever been recorded in the state. This storm also brought wind gusts of up to 191 mph and a massive surf to multiple seaports.
Over the next few days, Hawaii’s big island mountain peaks are forecasted to receive 3 to 5 inches of snow.
