The Snow Report S6 E3
Reading Your Wild Resort Guide Comments
SKI Magazine‘s Resort Guide is out and it’s got the results of SKI’s Reader Resort Survey, which helps rank the top 30 ski resorts in the west and top 20 in the east.
We love reading your commentary as it pertains to your favorite resorts, because some of it is helpful… and some of it is bat-shit crazy. (Those are the ones we live for.)
In the Resort Guide issue, you’ll also find information about Warren Miller Entertainment’s premiere of ‘Future Retro’ which is going virtual this year. (Thanks a lot, Covid.) Plus, they’ve got a quiz to help you find out which ski town you belong in.
So, Who REALLY Opened First?
Snow has been falling throughout the month of October and the Midwest has officially kicked off the 2020-2021 winter season. That’s right, Wild Mountain in Minnesota was first to open for skiing and riding with a rope tow and terrain park.
But wait… Does that count? We’re not entirely sure, as neighboring Wisconsin ski area, Trollhaugen believes you need a proper chairlift. (We’re rather indifferent, to be honest.)
Meanwhile, Wolf Creek in Colorado opened over the Halloween weekend (well after both Midwest ski areas) and claimed first to open in the United States. So, there’s that.
Find us on Facebook and let us know what you thought of the double beer concoction and which ski town you belong in. Cheers!
