Keystone Resort is back in the race to be the first mountain open in Colorado. Keystone has recently invested in more than 50 new low-energy snowguns and approximately 11,000 feet of air and water pipe on the mountainThe new snowguns are fully-automated and integrated with the resort’s new snowmaking system. Each one is equipped with a weather sensor that can detect ideal snowmaking temperatures on the mountain, which then trigger the guns to turn on and begin making snow automatically. This automated system allows the resort to manage resources more efficiently and operate more productively in these narrow low-temperature snowmaking windows.

Keystone has yet to announce when opening day will be but Colorado skiers and riders can plan on it being very soon.
