RED Mountain Joins Ikon Pass

RED Mountain Is Now “Ikonic”

The Ikon Pass community continues to grow with the addition of western Canada’s original ski destination, RED Mountain.

This addition brings the Ikon Pass resort offerings to a whopping 44 destinations for the 20/21 winter season.

“We are thrilled to invite Ikon Pass holders to RED Mountain and expand access into the great Monashee Mountains of Canada,” said Erik Forsell, Chief Marketing Officer, Alterra Mountain Company. “We are always looking for partners that define an independent spirit, incredible offerings, and a love of the mountains, and RED lives that each day.”

A Top 10 Largest Ski Destination in North America

Located in Rossland, British Columbia, RED Mountain is the first stop on Canada’s famous Powder Highway. RED provides a vast 3,850 acres of terrain with 2,919 of vertical feet. These stats alone make RED Mountain one of the top 10 largest ski destinations.

The resort is also #1 for most acres per skier in North America. In a physically distant world, this kind of stat is more important than ever before.

Since 2013, RED has continued to open new terrain, introduced pay-per-run cat skiing, added The Josie, a new ski-in/ski-out boutique hotel, and opened a new modern hostel, Nowhere Special, at the base of the mountain.

A resume like that is rather impressive. In fact, The New York Times voted RED Mountain “Top 10 Best Place in the World to Visit in 2013.”

“As one of the first ski resorts in North America, RED Mountain defines authenticity, anchored by an emotional connection to its history, community, guests and staff,” said Howard Katkov, CEO & Chairman. “To stay sustainable and current in the ever-changing ski travel market, we are proud to become the latest Ikon Pass partner and join a list of iconic mountain destinations that share the same devotion to authenticity and character.”

Which Pass, What Days?

You have two Ikon Pass options if you want to make a stop (or several) at RED Mountain this season.

  • Ikon Pass holders will have access to 7 days at RED with no blackout dates.
  • Ikon Base Pass holders will have access to 5 days each, with select blackout dates.
  • There is no access to RED on the Ikon Session Pass 4-Day.
