Arapahoe Basin Makes Snow – September 22, 2019
TESTING, TESTING, 1…2…3…
Colder nights are creeping in and that means it’s time for snowmaking in the Colorado high country. According to Arapahoe Basin’s blog and social media, the mountain fired up the snowmaking system during a favorable window of low wet bulb.
This probably warrants a post if its own, but to give you some context, wet bulb is the number that combines the ambient temperature and relative humidity. The lower the humidity, the better the snowmaking.
While production was nominal and the effort was more of a test than anything else, it looks like A-Basin will be ready to go in the #Race2Open.
