Pick any good ski film and I’m sure that you’ll see it. A scene where one of the world’s greatest big mountain skiers or riders is ripping through a gnarly pillow line. What looks to be soft and fluffy bumps is actually a series of boulders covered by powder deep enough to create this pillowy effect. It’s a challenge that can even cast the most technical of mountain riders astray. But when it’s done right, it’s a thing of beauty, a line blazed with a sea of white haze trailing behind. One that will definitely have you earning your après and those deliciously cold craft beers that you so deserve when finished shredding for the day

In an effort to capture the essence of this perfect day, from fresh pow covered pillow lines to après-ski, Idaho’s Payette Brewing has released their two newest seasonal craft beers appropriately named Pillow Line and Après. Both, hazy IPA’s are worth every drop in their own special way.

Pillow Line Imperial Hazy IPA

Payette Brewing Pillow Line

At 8.5% this Imperial IPA packs as much of a punch as its namesake. When the first sip touches your lips, your eyes will widen as if looking down on this incredible mountain run. Copious amounts of juicy melon and apricot fruitiness hit you with a face shot of flavor that is not overly piney despite the hops. Overall, it is as well balanced as a great skier going full send through the Pillow Line.

Après Hazy IPA

The can says Party with your boots on and when you’re drinking this beer, you should. It’s worth it! Despite being a slightly high 6% abv, Après is a refreshingly tasty beer thanks to the rich amount of citrus flavors that flood the palate. Be careful though, après this good can certainly lead to more that just partying with your boots on, like drinking out of them. Cheers!
